Hans Hermann (later Chanan) Frenkel, was born in Halle an der Saale in 1905. Starting in July 1925, Hans Hermann Frenkel stayed on different farms of kibbutz Herut: in Griessem, Kirchohsen, Aerzen, again in Kirchohsen, Lügde and again in Aerzen. In between he was also away on Hakhshara. In 1928, Frenkel emigrated to Palestine and arrived at Givat Brenner. In the early 1930s, he returned to Germany to study at the Bauhaus in Dessau, returning to Palestine for good in 1933. Frenkel was one of the most important Bauhaus architects in Palestine/Israel. He died in Tel Aviv in 1957.
